A Little History

As a child I was always fascinated by the process of making tea. My mom would heat the water, grab a tea bag, and patiently steep the tea for just the right amount of time. She would always ask me if I wanted some.

I would also wander into the kitchen and watch my grandmother make coffee. She had a coffeemaker that would bubble and steam as the pot brewed. The aroma of the freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen, and I would always ask for a cup. She would smile and give me a small cup of coffee, mixed with lots of milk and sugar. I would blow on it to cool it down, and then take a sip. I would be amazed at how grown-up and sophisticated I felt, drinking coffee with the adults. 

Camping, tea parties, and travel were a big part of growing up too and looking back, I realize that these moments along with the ones spent sharing tea and coffee with my family, were some of the most precious memories of my childhood. They taught me the value of taking time to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.
